Careers work at St. Monica’s has been supported and enhanced for many years by our links with the Connexions Service.

Connexions provides a range of services available to young people in terms of information, advice, guidance, support and personal development for ALL 13 to 19 year olds in Bury and up to the age of 25 for those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities.

Our three Personal Advisers are
Ken Towler, who works in school on Tuesday and Thursday and
Cath Foulkes, who works on a Friday and Shelley Warden who will come in to work in the school with Year 11 from February onwards.

Their roles are to provide Careers information, Advice and Guidance mainly to Year 11 in their immediate careers planning, but also to interview some students in years 9 and 10 and also work in St. Monica’s Sixth Form Centre. They are also in attendance at Parents Evenings and special events such as the Year 11 College Guidance Day.

They can be contacted through the Connexions Service in Bury ( see the related broucher)
